Fire Police

As a support arm of the Alpha Fire Company, the officers of the Alpha Fire Police primarily assist with traffic and crowd control at company incidents and functions. However, our officers also assist the Littlestown Police Department, Pennsylvania State Police, Littlestown Borough, and our neighboring Townships with a variety of services.

With incident scenes becoming more and more complex and the constantly changing traffic distractions that drivers are exposed to these days, operating the traffic control portion of our service is by far the most dangerous. We see news reports all of the time about fire trucks being struck on the scene of an incident they were already working at. Situations like that is how we have progressed to getting "Move-Over" laws and regulations.

We are always looking for good new officers to come and join our ranks. And No, you do not Need to be a firefighter to be a Fire Police Officer. A background in the fire department always helps, but not required. If you always thought about joining the fire company and helping out the community but running into a burning building just is not on the top of your list of ways to do it, come check us out.
